Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- Submit your manuscript by registering and logging in at website or send an email to- librarian@shahucollegepune.org
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

COPYRIGHT POLICY
ScholarNova Research Journal is an International Interdisciplinary Peer-Reviewed Research Journal published by Akhil Bharatiya Maratha Shikshan Parishad’s Shri Shahu Mandir Mahavidyalaya, Pune. The journal respects the intellectual property rights of authors and promotes responsible, transparent, and ethical scholarly publishing.
1. Copyright Ownership
Authors retain the copyright of their original work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
By submitting a manuscript to ScholarNova Research Journal, the author(s) grant the journal and its publisher a non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, and make the accepted article publicly available in print and/or electronic form.
The copyright remains with the author(s), while the journal receives the necessary publishing rights to disseminate the scholarly work.
2. Author Rights
Authors retain the following rights:

The right to be recognized as the author(s) of the work.

The right to use their published work for teaching and educational purposes.

The right to use the article for academic and research purposes.

The right to include the article in a thesis or dissertation.

The right to share the published article in institutional repositories, subject to the journal's licensing and citation requirements.

The right to use reasonable portions of the work in future books or other scholarly publications, with appropriate acknowledgment of its original publication in ScholarNova Research Journal.
Authors should always provide a proper citation to the published version when reusing or sharing the work.
3. License to the Journal
Upon acceptance and publication, the author(s) grant ScholarNova Research Journal a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

Publish the article;

Reproduce and distribute the article;

Make the article available online;
-
Archive the article in appropriate repositories and databases;
-
Include the article in journal issues, collections, indexing services, and scholarly platforms;
-
Promote and disseminate the article for academic and research purposes.
This license does not transfer ownership of copyright from the author(s) to the journal unless a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise.
4. Open Access and Licensing
ScholarNova Research Journal may publish articles under an open-access model.
Where an open-access Creative Commons license is adopted, the applicable Creative Commons license will be clearly stated on the article and journal website.
The journal may use a license such as Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY), under which users may share and adapt the work provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source.
The specific license displayed with the published article shall govern the permitted reuse of that article.
5. Originality and Exclusive Rights
Authors must ensure that:

The submitted manuscript is their original work.

The manuscript has not been previously published in its submitted form.

The manuscript is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.

All sources, quotations, data, images, tables, and ideas taken from other works are appropriately acknowledged.

The manuscript does not infringe the copyright, intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party.
Submission of a manuscript confirms that the author(s) have the authority to grant the publication rights required by the journal.
6. Third-Party Copyrighted Material
Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission to reproduce copyrighted material belonging to third parties, including:

Photographs

Figures
-
Tables
-
Charts
-
Maps
-
Extended quotations
-
Illustrations
-
Previously published material
-
Proprietary datasets or other protected content
Where permission is required, appropriate acknowledgment and copyright information must be included in the manuscript.
The journal will not be responsible for copyright infringement arising from material supplied by authors.
7. Copyright Infringement
If the journal receives a credible allegation of copyright infringement, the editorial team will investigate the matter.
Where necessary, the journal may:

Request an explanation from the author(s);

Request documentary evidence of permission;
-
Temporarily restrict access to the article;
-
Correct the published record;
-
Issue a retraction or withdrawal where appropriate;
-
Remove infringing material from the journal's platform where legally necessary.
Serious copyright disputes may be referred to the appropriate institutional or legal authorities.
8. Plagiarism and Duplicate Publication
Copyright protection does not permit authors to reproduce another person's work without appropriate authorization or attribution.
ScholarNova Research Journal considers plagiarism, substantial unattributed copying, duplicate publication, and unauthorized reproduction of previously published material to be serious forms of publication misconduct.
Manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism or inappropriate text reuse during editorial processing or peer review.
Where misconduct is established after publication, the journal may issue a correction, expression of concern, retraction, or other appropriate editorial action.
9. Self-Archiving and Institutional Repositories
Authors may deposit or share their published work in institutional repositories, subject repositories, academic profiles, or personal academic webpages, subject to the applicable article license and journal policy.
The deposited version should include appropriate bibliographic information and acknowledge the original publication in ScholarNova Research Journal.
10. Preprints
Authors should disclose whether the submitted manuscript has previously appeared as a preprint.
Publication of a preprint does not automatically constitute prior journal publication; however, authors must provide the preprint details during submission.
If the manuscript is subsequently published in ScholarNova Research Journal, authors should update the preprint record with a link or citation to the published article where appropriate.
11. Copyright of Journal Website and Published Content
The journal's website, logo, journal design, editorial materials, and other original journal-owned content may be protected by copyright.
Unless expressly permitted by the applicable license, users may not reproduce, modify, commercially exploit, or redistribute journal-owned website content, branding, or design without prior written permission.
12. Corrections, Retractions and Withdrawal
Copyright and publication rights do not prevent the journal from correcting, retracting, or withdrawing an article when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
Such actions may be taken in cases involving:

Proven plagiarism;
-
Fabricated or falsified data;
-
Serious ethical violations;
-
Copyright infringement;
-
Duplicate publication;
-
Major errors affecting the validity of the article;
-
Legal or regulatory concerns.
The journal will follow a transparent editorial process when taking such action.
13. Copyright and AI-Assisted Content
Authors remain responsible for the originality, accuracy, legality, and copyright status of all material submitted to the journal, including content produced or assisted by artificial intelligence tools.
Authors must not use AI tools in a manner that infringes third-party copyright or intellectual property rights.
Where the journal requires disclosure of AI assistance, authors should clearly disclose the tool used and the nature of its contribution. AI tools should not be listed as authors.
14. Copyright Disputes
Any copyright dispute concerning a published article should first be communicated to the Editor-in-Chief of ScholarNova Research Journal.
The journal will attempt to resolve disputes through appropriate editorial and institutional procedures and, where necessary, in accordance with applicable law.
15. Author Declaration
At the time of submission, authors may be required to confirm the following declaration:
Copyright and Originality Declaration
I/We declare that the submitted manuscript is my/our original work and has not been published previously in its present form or submitted simultaneously to another journal. I/We confirm that all sources and third-party materials have been appropriately acknowledged and that the necessary permissions have been obtained wherever required. I/We authorize ScholarNova Research Journal to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, and disseminate the accepted manuscript in accordance with the journal's applicable publishing license. I/We understand that copyright ownership and author rights will be governed by the copyright and licensing terms applicable to the published article.
16. Policy Updates
ScholarNova Research Journal reserves the right to revise this Copyright Policy when necessary to reflect changes in publishing practices, copyright law, open-access standards, or scholarly communication requirements.
Any significant changes will be communicated through the journal's official website.
